Jessore Medical College (Bengali: যশোর মেডিকেল কলেজ) is a government medical college established in 2010. Founded in the district of Jessore from Khulna division of Bangladesh, JMC is committed to delivering high standard medical education and health service.
Campus and Facilities
The JMC campus is located in Jessore Sadar Upazila, close to the Chanchra New Bus Terminal. It is a perfect place for education in medical sciences. The College has a 500 bedded teaching hospital and is affiliated to Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna. The hospital is one of the biggest hospitals in south Bangladesh with 17 successful operation theatres (12 general, two emergency, and one labour, and two daily). It has set up special departments such as Oncologist, Urologist and Radiotherapy, can accommodate more than 1,000 patients and Postgraduate Training (PGT) as well.
Academic Programs
JMC provides a five-year Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program with a compulsory one-year internship. It consists of full-fledged medical education, following the training of the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). Students who graduate earn their MBBS degrees from Rajshahi University upon completion, the same as all other students of JMC. JMC prides itself in producing competent medical professionals.

JMC admits 100 students in its MBBS program every year. The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) conducts a centralized admission test for prospective students. Merit is the sole criterion for selection, operations while taking care of the district quotas, freedom fighter descendants, tribal quota etc. International students may apply through individual Bangladeshi embassies in their states.
