Mait Jessore

MAIT Jessore (Muslim Aid Institute of Technology)

For those who don’t know, MAIT Jessore stands for Muslim Aid Institute of Technology, one of its kind skill-building institutes established in 2007. It is located in Jessore, Khulna Division, and was set up by Muslim Aid UK to teach unemployed young people super practical skills, like IT, driving, welding and tailoring.

Why’s this important?

That’s because Mait Jessore is more than just another coaching center — it’s giving people the very real, hands-on skills that they need most. Since it began, over 3,000 youths have been trained, and more than 1,000 have found jobs. Straight-up impact, right there.

They even managed to snatch 4-year Diploma-in-Engineering approval from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB—Computer, Electrical and Civil Engineering). They’ve been given the green signal by BRTA to continue ferrying passengers under the guise of a legit driving school.

Where Is This Place & What’s It Like?

Mait Jessore can be reached at Sector 7, A/14 (or A/15)—New Town, Dhaka Road, Jessore. It’s just next to the Khajura bus stand, so it’s super easy to get to.

They’re open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., a good stretch of time for the young, would-be students to work even when they have other responsibilities.

Team That Actually Cares

Mait Jessore isn’t just some faceless organization — there are real people with real creds behind the project:

  • Principal: The Principal is Mr. Mominur Rahman, B.Sc ITE and professionally trained.
  • Secretary: Mr. Nur Islam (B.Com Hons, M.Com)
  • Dept. Heads: Computer—Md. Arifuzzaman; Electrical—Md. Asaduzzaman, Shadhon Kumar Paul; Civil—Md. Ashif Ullah Chowdhury; and math, tailoring, admin and support staff.

These people tend to stick around — they’re not one-off trainers — and students get consistency and solid mentorship.”

Why Mait Jessore Rocks

Real Skills > Theory

  • In fact, learning how to repair a mobile, drive a car, or weld a joint is far more valuable to many people than abstract theory.

Trusted Accreditation

  • Diplomas and trade certificates are legit(confirmed)* thanks to BTEB and BRTA approvals — makes job land easier.

Affordable & Practical

  • Classes come at a price that suits most budgets— and do wonders to open doors, career-wise.

Long-Term Impact

  • When you train thousands and put hundreds into jobs, Mait becomes more than a school — it is what I call a liftoff platform.

Local Access

  • It is in the heart of New Town, Jessore so is accessible to a large area of young people.

Mait Jessore is more than a training center — it’s a way out of uncertainty. Since 2007, it has been offering many under-employed young people the leg up they need by offering practical skills and real diplomas that count. Whether you want to get ahead in a mechanics course, land computer work, or otherwise begin to shape your future, Mait has the tools you need, and won’t hit your wallet too hard, either.
